Prototyping and industrialisation

Our NPI department is the heart of the organisation. It makes sure every part of the product works towards one goal, which reduces risk, shortens time to market and puts resources where they matter.

Dedicated people and specialised lines give you rapid prototypes to test early. When the proto-series is approved, we industrialise through a 0-series before the product moves to our volume lines.

Our machine parks are upgraded continuously and cover everything from prototype series to high volume. Compliance with IPC class 2 and 3 runs through every step, from design to testing.

What we do in electronics production

Seven fully automatic SMD lines, Fuji and Mycronic
Surface mount (SMT) and through-hole assembly
Automated optical inspection (AOI), including THT-AOI
3D X-ray, wave and selective soldering
Cleaning and coating of PCBs, potting and curing

Let us assemble, test and package

Many clients let us take care of assembly, testing and packaging, so they can spend their own competence on their core business. When we handle logistics, electronics, machining of enclosures and chassis, assembly and test, we are well placed to deliver at high quality and on competitive terms.

High-precision milling and turning

Our engineers and machine operators have long experience from aerospace, defence, subsea, seismic and medical production. Our speciality is volume series with annual needs from about 50 to about 20,000 parts. We produce to your forecast and can hold buffer stock for one to three months of consumption.

What we do in machining

Five 5-axis machining centres up to 630 × 630 × 630 mm with up to 90 pallets, in a Fastems robot cell for 24/7 production
4-axis machining centres up to 700 × 700 × 700 mm, and multi-axis lathes with turning diameter up to approx. 330 mm
Aluminium, stainless and acid-resistant steel, titanium, brass, bronze and POM
Coordinate measuring machine, trend analysis on critical dimensions
Powder coating, laser engraving and marking

Cable with certified quality

Westcontrol Berget has built cable assemblies and harnesses for military and civilian products for many years. Complex harnesses are assembled on nail boards and tested before they ship, and documentation can follow the delivery or be stored with us.

What we do in cable & harness

Mechanical processing of single wires, in-line wrap-around marking, civil and military marking systems
Multi-cables and cable trunks up to 10 metres
Fibre optics from own clean rooms: Expanded Beam, termini to MIL circular connectors, LC, SC, FC, ST, single mode and multimode
Braiding with textile yarn for aerospace cables
Complete wiring sets for clients who do their own assembly

02 Buyer questions

What buyers ask us first.

Do you take both prototypes and volume?

Yes. The NPI department has its own lines for prototypes. After an approved proto-series we run a 0-series, and then the product moves to our volume lines.

Which standards do you build to?

Electronics are built to IPC class 2 and 3. Westcontrol Berget is certified to EN 9100:2018 (AS9100D) for aerospace and defence. See the quality page for all certificates.

What volumes suit your machining?

Our speciality is volume series with annual needs from about 50 to about 20,000 parts, produced to your forecast with optional buffer stock for one to three months.

Can you handle export and customs?

Yes. Our logistics team handles import and export, and we have a dedicated team member for customs.

Do I need finished drawings before I get in touch?

No. A short description of the product, the stage you are at and rough volumes is enough to start the conversation.
